From the Founder:
“As a devoted pet owner, my two cats are more than just companions—they’re family. Like many of you, I know the anxiety of leaving them behind, especially when work or travel calls me away. That’s why I created Mind My Cat: to give your furry friends the loving care they deserve, right in the trusted surroundings and comfort of their own home.
Nothing replaces the safety and familiarity of home for your pets. Their long-term health also depends on good nutrition and emotional well-being, and we make them our top priorities too. Our mission is simple: to be the trusted helping hand for pet owners who want only the best for their pets, so you and your beloved pets can enjoy life to the fullest—with less worry, more joy, and no compromises.”
A Standard Carer is a pet sitter or dog walker who holds a Health & Sanitation Certificate from Pet Sitters International, Inc. and/or similar pet care related certifications. They are fully equipped to handle the everyday needs of most pets in the comfort of their own home.
A Specialist Carer is a qualified veterinarian, veterinary nurse, or certified pet trainer. We recommend booking a Specialist Carer if your pet has severe health conditions or special behavioural needs that require expert attention and care.
The charge per session varies depending on whether you select a Standard Carer or Specialist Carer, as well as the duration required. For a detailed fee structure and our cancellation policy, please visit our pricing details here.
It is essential for the selected Carer to complete a Pre-Consultation Visit (the “Consultation”) before the requested service can begin. The Consultation allows you and the Carer to become acquainted, and gives the Carer an opportunity to get to know your pet(s), and gain a clear understanding of the required tasks and the home environment.
However, if you are a returning pet owner, you may waive the Consultation provided no changes have occurred since the most recent service within 90 days, including: (i) the location and layout of the home; (ii) the health condition of the pet(s); and (iii) no new pet(s) added to the household requiring care.
A fee of HKD 80 shall be chargeable if the requested service is cancelled after the Consultation is completed but before the first session begins, and it will be deducted from the eligible refund of pre-payment.
We understand that inviting a new Carer into your home can be nerve-wracking. To provide you peace of mind to build a long-term, trusting relationship with MMC, we have established comprehensive safety measures, which include but not limited to:
- All our Carers are contractors who undergo an interview and selection process, and, where applicable, background checks before joining the MMC Carer team;
- A Pre-Consultation Visit is conducted before the service for you to meet your Carer and to tailor the service to your needs;
- Our Carers will video record pet care sessions (which you can opt out of) and use GPS tracking for dog walking sessions without compromising others’ privacy. These recordings are stored securely and are accessible to you for added assurance;
- MMC may provide limited liability coverage in certain circumstances, subject to terms, conditions and limitations. We strongly recommend you review the details at https://mindmycat.com/insurance-policy/;
- MMC carefully selects and supports its Carer team, providing certification training and ongoing pet care-related training;
- MMC is your trusted partner 24/7, ready to follow your guidance and provide assistance in emergencies;
- Carers are not permitted to bring anyone or other pets to any session; and
- You maintain control over key handover and access arrangements, so you decide who enters your home and when.
The safety of our Carers and your pets is our top priority. During adverse weather conditions such as black rainstorm warnings or typhoon signals (T8 or above), we will follow official guidance and assess the situation. We will endeavour to reschedule affected sessions as soon as it is safe and practicable to do so. In any case, we will monitor the forecast closely and leave your pet with adequate food and water available in the situation of service disruptions.
Currently, overnight care and boarding services are not available. However, we remain open to including these options in the future if there is sufficient demand from pet owners.
