Who’s Protected?

Pet Owner

Pet owner booking through Mind My Cat.

Pet Carer

Registered pet carer (18+ with HKID) who holds the “Health & Sanitation Certificate Course for Pet-Sitting Business” certificate issued by Pet Sitters International and/or similar recognised pet care qualifications.

What’s Covered?

Up to HKD15,000 per incident for accidental injuries to your pet during the service.

Up to HKD50,000 if a pet carer accidentally causes injury or property damage to a third party.

Up to HKD10,000 if a pet passes away due to an accident during the service.

Up to HKD50,000 if a pet carer is seriously injured or passes away in an accident during the service.

When & Where Are You Covered?
  • During Booked Visits Only: Protection begins and ends with each confirmed session that is booked and fully pre-paid via the Mind My Cat platform. The protection is limited exclusively to dogs and cats registered at the time of booking.
  • At the Registered Address: Coverage applies at the address listed in the booking. Dog walks are covered within a specified distance from the address. Emergency vet trips are covered for the most direct route to the clinic.
How to Make a Claim?
  • Notify MMC: As soon as possible in writing within 7 days of the incident.
  • One Claim per Booking: Only one claim can be made per visit.
What’s Not Covered?
  • Any services not booked through the Mind My Cat platform (coverage applies to dogs and cats only)
  • Pre-existing conditions, breed-specific conditions, or injuries from acts of nature
  • Long-term vet care lasting more than 30 days
  • Damage to personal property of pet owner or pet carer
  • Any kind of fighting dogs (as defined under Schedule 1 of Cap. 167D Dangerous Dogs Regulation) or known dangerous dogs (as defined under Section 10(1) of Cap. 167D Dangerous Dogs Regulation)
  • Incidents occurring outside the booked service time location

* An insurance claim excess of HKD1,000 shall apply on an eligible claim.

Mind My Cat reserves the right to deny a claim request in the event that the loss, injury or damage arose, in whole or in part, from conduct by a claimant that violates the terms and conditions, or from provision of inadequate or fraudulent information.
